Cut Piece Ritual

The artist was invited to reperform Yoko Ono's famous 1964 piece. She decided not to simply repeat the action, but to update the performance, which is more than half a century old, and to enrich it with elements typical of her own work. Underneath the formal dress, the artist had one more layer - points, which shifted the until then rather serious course of the performance to a lighter plane. The two layers also refer to the double face of human or female personhood. The artist also invited the audience to think about what they wanted to get rid of in their lives while cutting her dress - the destruction of the dress was thus also connected with the psychological cleansing of the participants. In one day, the performance happened twice.
